Homicide Unit investigating the disappearance of Nuseiba Hassan

The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit is actively investigating the disappearance of Nuseiba Hassan. She was last seen alive by her family in the fall of 2006 at the Hasan family residence located at 1207 Concession 8 West, Flamborough.

Her disappearance was not reported to Police until early 2015. Investigators believe she may have been the victim of foul play.

As part of the ongoing investigation Police will be conducting a search at 1207 Concession Road West in #Flamborough over the next several days.

The property is no longer owned by the Hasan family.

Nuseiba Hasan is of Jordanian descent, approximately 5'4" with a slim build. She has brown eyes and black hair. Nuseiba was 26 at the time of her disappearance.

Police release video in hopes to identify suspects and speak to persons of interest.

Hamilton Police Service Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects, persons of interests and other witnesses in the area at the time of the shooting that took place Sunday May 17, 2015 just after 6pm.

Police investigating after taxi driver slashed during robbery attempt

On Tuesday December 15, 2015, just shortly before 11:30pm the Hamilton Police responded to reports of a taxi driver had just been assaulted by a passenger that was armed with a knife making demands for cash.

Police responded into the area in search of the suspect with the assistance of the Hamilton Police Canine unit.

The man driving the taxi was rushed to hospital with the assistance of Hamilton Paramedics where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury caused by the knife and is expected to recovery from the injuries sustained during the incident.

Investigation revealed that the man had taken a taxi from the James Street North area between Rebecca Street and Robert Street in the downtown area just prior to the incident.

Once arriving in the area of 515 Queen Victoria Drive the suspect produced a knife and attempted to rob the taxi driver of cash. The suspect used the knife to assault the driver before running away from the taxi without stealing anything.

Detectives have been investigating since the incident took place and have obtained digital images and video that is now being released to the public in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Male, black, approximately 25 years old. Wearing a dark coloured winter coat with fur around the hood area.

Police are reminding the public to call 9-1-1 and to never approach anyone who may be observed with a weapon.

On November 30th, 2013 shortly after 3 a.m. an altercation occurred between two groups of men outside a restaurant located at 217 King St. W. Hamilton. Things quickly escalated when one man produced a handgun and shot the victim. The victim was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Tyler Johnson of Hamilton.
On December 11th, 2013 members of the Homicide Unit arrested 19-year-old Brandon Barreira inside a Cambridge, Ontario residence. A search warrant was executed at the address where further evidence was collected. Today Barreira will appear in court and be formally charged with first degree murder.

Investigators believe that Tyler Johnson was targeted, but are still unclear on the motive. Investigators seized video footage of the incident from a number of video surveillance cameras and believe this was a coordinated attack carried out by a number of suspects. Investigators are releasing a number of video clips in the hope that someone in the public can identify them.

Detectives investigating a Bank Robbery on Queenston Road

On Monday January 30, 2017, just shortly before 10am, Hamilton Police were dispatched to the Bank of Montreal located at 290 Queenston Road in Hamilton to investigate reports of a robbery.

The suspect approached an employee working inside and demanded cash. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash before exiting the bank. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was captured on camera and was last seen running away from the bank on foot. Detectives are releasing images of the suspect to the public in hopes that someone recognizes the man.

On Saturday the 21st of February, 2015, at approximately 10:43am a male entered and robbed a Pharmacy located in the area of Mohawk Rd E and Upper Gage Avenue in Hamilton by making demands to turn over narcotics.

The suspect stole a quantity of narcotics and fled on foot from the area. There were no injuries during this robbery.

Suspect Described As: Male White, 5’7ft, 150lbs, 30-40 years old

Police want to remind the public that any medications or narcotics if not properly prescribed by a medical professional could be potentially harmful to your health. The Hamilton Police Service BEAR Unit is looking for the public’s assistance.

On Sunday March 10, 2014 at 2:20 am, Al Simmons Gun Store, located at 122 Locke Street South, was broken into by three males. Several firearms were taken in the entry but were recovered shortly afterwards by Police.

The suspects used a stolen car to smash through the front of the building to gain entry and once inside they quickly grabbed several firearms before fleeing the area on foot.

Of note, the suspects left behind a large black hockey bag with white trim featuring a stitched Penguins logo on it along with the number 9.

During the early morning hours of Wednesday August 8th 2015 the suspect in the attached video tried to enter the 50 Point Market, located at 15 Lockport Way, Hamilton. The suspect attempted to pry a door to gain entry to the business, but fled the scene prior to gaining entry. Police believe that this suspect is also responsible for more entries within the City of Hamilton. Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for this crime. Suspect caught on camera
For Immediate release: June 25, 2015
Hamilton, ON

On May 26th, 2015, a man attempted to break into the Big Bee Convenience store located at 856 Lawrence Road in the City of Hamilton just after 1:00am.

Security video captured the suspect attending the scene just prior to the break and enter attempt. Police are releasing the video in an attempt to identify the man responsible.

The suspect is described as a male white, 18-25 years of age, standing approximately 5’10, with a thin build.

On Monday February 2015 at approximately 5:00am a taxi driver was assigned to pick up a customer in the area of Barton Street and James Street North in Hamilton.

The taxi driver attended to the area and a male and a female in the area entered the taxi cab and requested a ride to the area of Augusta Street and Young Street.

Upon reaching the area of Augusta Street and Walnut Street South the male passenger requested the driver stop the taxi. The male at that time placed a knife to the driver’s neck making demands.

The driver using his hands grabbed the knife pushing it away and then fled on foot from the taxi. The driver observed the male and female inside the taxi also exit and were last seen running from the area south bound along Walnut Street South and then westbound along Young Street. The suspects stole cash, a debit terminal/machine and a bag with various personal items belonging to the victim.

The victim suffered minor injuries/cuts to his hands.

Suspects Described By the Victim As:

Suspect 1: Male, White, approx. 35 –years-old, 5’10” in height, 150lbs with a medium build and wearing a black jacket.

Suspect 2: Female, white, approx. 35-years-old, 5’5” in height, 170lbs with a heavy build, wearing a black jacket.
